Today I thought about how to have different revisions of my project documentation which is a condition precedent to my degree.
After weighting up CVS and Subversion I decided to use Subversion.
It wasn't such short like it looks here to get all the needed informations together. Anyways, here it goes:
# apt-get install subversion subversion-tools
# mkdir /advdrv/svn
# svnadmin --fs-type fsfs create /advdrv/svn
# addgroup subversion
Adding group `subversion' (1003)... Done.
# chgrp -R subversion /advdrv/svn
# chmod -R o-rwx /advdrv/svn
# chmod -R g+rw /advdrv/svn
# chmod g+s /advdrv/svn
# adduser waja subversion
Adding user `waja' to group `subversion'... Done.
# adduser --system --home /advdrv/svn/ subversion
adduser: Warning: The home dir you specified already exists. Adding system user `subversion'... Adding new user `subversion' (112) with group `nogroup'. Home directory `/advdrv/svn/' already exists.
# su -c "/usr/bin/svnserve -d -r /advdrv/svn/" subversion
# apt-get install websvn
# svn import projectdoc svn://localhost/projectdoc/ \
-m "Initial Version"
